I have loved the Irish folk song The Last Rose of Summer ever since I was a child. I learned it when I began studying flute and have been humming it since I was about six years old. Arranging Friedrich Kuhlau's flute and piano showpiece variations for flute choir was incredibly fun and I can't wait until I can play this piece on stage with other flutists again. Until then, enjoy the quarantine version! This was recorded entirely in my at-home practice room during various 2020 shutdown orders.
